I use this currency converter.
The canvas, this piece has been backed onto, was bought before I had any
idea what to use it for. It stayed in my studio for a good few months before
the shape made me think of honeycomb.
I had recently finished a commission based on a Mermaid so I was thinking
of fantastical creatures and that’s where the idea of The Queen of the
Bees originated.
She’s made with layered fabrics, fabric paints, yarn, hand embroidery, beading and a special material called Tyvek.
This piece is approximately 20" (51cm) at the widest part. Each side is approximately 10.5" (26.5cm).
