Felt Shawl (featured in the Melting and Felting CD Book).
Not Available.
This beautiful shawl was made by felting pink and silver net in between natural and caramel coloured corriedale sliver. Small squares of jewel-like precious bits of textiles and yarn have been trapped in place onto the felt.
"When the piece was dry I hand stitched the two sides together using
this gorgeous pink and cream Colinette yarn that I’ve had lying around
for years. As the two piece of felt were very raggedy around the edges I was
left with some unusual shapes and textures that I tried to bind down to make
them as strong as possible. Above you can see a little glimpse of silver and
pink net peeking through."
(Excerpt from Melting and Felting CD Book).
The felt for this shawl was made in a similar way to my Shepherdess figurine.
This shawl is approximately 64" x 34"
Information about how I made this shawl can be found in the
